Irritec Unregulated Dripper
Unregulated drippers are drip irrigation devices that allow water to flow through without a pressure compensation mechanism. Unlike self-regulating drippers, their flow rate varies depending on the pressure of the irrigation network and the conditions of the soil. By terrain condition, we are mainly talking about the difference in level that there could be between certain drippers and others. If the terrain has bumps for example, this will directly influence the amount of water that will come out of the dripper! The drippers that are the lowest will have more pressure and therefore a greater flow rate than those placed on a bump which will be higher! Similarly, if a dripper is disconnected and placed on the ground, much more water will flow!
Unregulated drippers are therefore NOT recommended if the terrain has a difference in level. They are also not recommended if the irrigation line is long or to be more precise in the explanation if there are many drippers. Indeed, between the beginning of the irrigation line and the last dripper, there will necessarily be a loss of pressure, since the water will have already come out by many drippers beforehand, the pressure will therefore be lower and the flow rate will therefore be lower at the end of the line than at the beginning of the line!
We therefore recommend unregulated drippers up to 50 drippers maximum.
The operation of unregulated drippers is based on a simple passage of water through through a small orifice or built-in labyrinth.
Water Inlet
Water enters the dripper under pressure from the irrigation network.
Flow Reduction
Water passes through an internal labyrinth designed to slow the flow and prevent too fast an exit.
Éevacuation de l’eau
The water exits the dripper through a small opening directly towards the ground or the base of the plant.
